Last year, Yulianna Avdeeva left her audience so intoxicated by a highly virtuosic program of works by Beethoven and Liszt that she simply must return to the Burghofspiele in 2018! The Wiesbadener Kurier also concurred: "The Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva had celebrated in her program at the Burghofspiele . excessive piano playing, which can be experienced only extremely rarely in the concert hall." She is the winner of probably the most important piano competition in the world, the Chopin Competition in Warsaw 2010, which she was the first woman since Martha Argerich to win. It is therefore only logical that she now performs some of Chopin's most enchanting works, including the dreamy Nocturnes in C-sharp minor op. posth. and F major op.15 no.1, as well as the Polonaise in F-sharp minor op. 44, which the composer wrote in 1841 and dedicated to Princess Ludmilla de Beauveau. One can then really look forward to Avdeeva's interpretation of the famous Pictures at an Exhibition, which Mussorgsky composed in 1874 after a tour of the exhibition of paintings by his painter friend Viktor Hartmann, who died young - after all, they are considered one of the most famous piano cycles of all and a showpiece of pianistic virtuosity.
