Encouraging creativity and opening up new perspectives: For many years, the members of the Ensemble Modern have been conducting education projects in Frankfurt schools, encouraging young people to have new experiences in dealing with music and making their own creative music. This year, for the first time, the Ensemble Modern, made possible by the Crespo Foundation, is training its students in the field of music education as part of the IEMA course at the HfMDK and passing on its educational tools to the next generation of musicians. After internal workshops and trainings, two intensive work phases of the IEMA students followed with 100 pupils of the IGS Nordend. For the most part without any previous instrumental knowledge, the students approached their own sound art experimentally. Together with the 14 professional young musicians of the IEMA and members of the Ensemble Modern, the students present the results in the one-hour performance Pink Planet.
