In a hotel suite, press secretary Eddie and speechwriter Paul are busy writing the ultimate campaign speech for their prime minister, while downstairs in the conference rooms an extremely emotionally charged vote on genetic manipulation is underway and tumultuous demonstrations can be heard outside the hotel. But the writing process for the Prime Minister's most important speech is not going smoothly at all. Time and again Eddie and Paul have to supply the press with minor scandals to distract them from major disasters that have just been uncovered. But as if all that wasn't difficult enough, another monstrosity is now threatening to come to light, involving George, a moderately intelligent politician who is friendly with the Prime Minister. George has not only grown genetically modified hops on his estate - he has allowed those hops to be made into beer. The side effects on consumers are simply devastating. Misfortune seems to take its course as Liz, Eddie's ex-wife and a journalist, is on the trail of the story.
A biting satire of government parties - similarities to governments in friendly neighboring countries are purely coincidental.
