With Psyche and Rational Youth, two veterans who helped shape the synth-pop and electro-wave scene of the 80s beyond the borders of their Canadian homeland are coming to Frankfurt.
The electro-pop duo Psyche have had a style-defining impact on both the electronic body music and synth-pop genres. From cold gruff industrial, to warm synthpop to minimal dancefloor sound, dark wave and beyond.... Psyche remain a true legend as a dramatic electronic pop band intent on sophisticated lyrics.
Formed by former Men without Hats guitarist Tracy Howe and Bill Vorn in the early 1980s, Rational Youth recorded arguably the greatest synth pop album Canada has ever seen with "Cold War Night Life" and were considered the Canadian version of Kraftwerk. Since 2016, Rational Youth have now been on the road as a duo (Howe and his wife Gaenor) - with endearing and melody-obsessed songs that early-electronically extol the neon lights of the big city and in no way have to hide behind early Depeche Mode in their endearing naivety.
