Bridges - Music Connects
Founded in 2020 as part of the music initiative "Bridges- Music Connects", the Qantara Trio takes audiences on a musical journey through civilization. Traditional, classical and contemporary sounds from Europe and the Middle East are musically interwoven. Breaks in style, complexity, cultural parallels and poetry resound in the rare combination of vocals, harp and oud in the form of Sephardic and German love songs, flamenco rhythms, Persian poetry and Syrian lullabies.
Hesham Hamra, oud | Samira Memarzadeh, harp | Jessica Poppe, vocals
About Bridges - Music Connects has been bringing together musicians with and without a history of flight and migration since 2016 and is committed to a musical dialogue that makes the potential of our diverse society audible. Characteristic of their music is the interplay of instruments from the Orient, Occident, Far East and Latin America. Bridges incorporates the musical cultural backgrounds of all participants and works musically on one of the prevailing themes of our time: diversity and dealing with it = integration.
