"Be a bit over the top!" With this request from the Querbeat song "Fat Q" the brass band seems to have provoked itself in the first place. For some years now, one has had to reach out a few trumpet lengths further to be able to give Querbeat a profile.
With atmospheric pop music, the Cologne band has trumpeted itself into the hearts and mouths of its fans. In front of sold-out concerts and festival stages throughout NRW and beyond, the 15 members of the band inspire thousands of fans. First and foremost with self-composed and produced songs, which are not only celebrated at carnival.
Millions of clicks on Youtube, tens of thousands of Facebook fans and a text-sure audience at live performances were the reward for red and white striped earworms. "Nie mehr Fastelovend" and "Tschingderassabum", the hits of the last carnival years, landed in a phenomenal second and third place in the popular "Loss mer Singe" competition.
With their first studio album "Fettes Q", Querbeat - "Das Q", as fans affectionately christened the brass band - prove jecken Zeitgeist and the art of always taking new directions. If you want to describe their style, you can't avoid fresh brass. With various influences from the areas of jazz, pop, alternative and not least their own Cologne Veedel, the colorful ensemble creates unmistakably individual sound and massive melodies freely according to the motto: Every Jeck dances differently. Querbeat already proved that their musical skills are as versatile as the costumes in Cologne's student bars with a project album in 2014. "Cuba Colonia" is the name of the record, which was created in collaboration with the who's who of the Cologne band scene and threw a Latin American garb over 12 of the most popular carnival hits.
