But we're dealing with Querbeat here, so 'standard' is pretty much the last thing that should come to mind. "Das Q", as the fans affectionately christened the brasspop band, is a bold statement. Level, finesse, punk and intelligence have rarely been so much fun. Fourteen loud nice people who know what they're doing and who ask you to dance. Life is giving out today!
It's bizarre, this bustling band establishes trumpets, trombones, tuba and saxophones in flawless pop almost unnoticed and sets previously unheard accents. Electronic and handmade are skilfully married, but it's no longer just cheeky, it's now fresh and fully competitive on the big stage. Querbeat has created a sound all of its own. Millions of clicks for their innovative music videos, over 55.000 fans on Facebook and Instagram are more than just feedback for many years of Brass and Bambule. Oh well, then they write really good songs. All the hits are sung here from a thousand throats: Acoustic highs of brass, pop and carnival, "Das Leben gibt heut einen aus" and "Guten Morgen Barbarossaplatz", the hip anthems to uncompromising going through. The stage rebels send the live DVD and CD from the (three times sold out) Cologne Palladium directly after their first studio album "Fettes Q". As a result, they first hit Cologne's Live Music Hall in April 2018 with new material as a concert follow-up, and after last year's successful club tour through the republic, they tune up their instruments again in May 2018 and let loose with plenty of riot and hurrah.
