On the album "2 Seiten", released in September 2017, Jan Josef Liefers & Band deal equally with the joy of life and the vagaries of life. It celebrates cohesion, togetherness, thoughtfulness and love. "The second album is always the hardest," Liefers quotes a well-known truth. "That's exactly why it should sound especially light. It should feel like a handful of fortune cookies thrown in the air. Just no grueling trench warfare over every next note and every next line. All songs should come from a great and good feeling and later infect everyone with it."
Thus, eleven new songs have emerged, showcasing Radio Doria's diverse musical profile. From clearly audible influences from the '80s and '90s to funky grooves and classic, almost film-music-like string arrangements, Liefers and his band take us through the Radio Doria sonic universe.
For years, Dresden-born Jan Josef Liefers has regularly toured Germany with Radio Doria - a band that gets along blindly, with a singer you wouldn't trust to play the stilted Professor Karl-Friedrich Boerne in Tatort on Sunday nights.
