The drummer filmed himself in bed with Katja Riemann and got kicked out of his acting agency. The bassist has dropped out of his electro-thingy studies and bought a house in Pforzheim. The guitarist shouts rebelliously: "Empört Euch!" and goes to play golf to relax. And Rainer, the singer, the eponym, whose lyrics can be placed somewhere between Dendemann and Demokrit, answers the always same question with angel patience: "Hey Rainer, how do you actually do that with the overtone singing?"
Rainer von Vielen have been carrying their bastard pop into the world for about ten years now: from Hamburg's Hafenklang to Oberammergau's Heimatsound, from Theater Basel to Vienna's Protestsongcontest, from the Tatort soundtrack to the Fusion Festival.
With guitar (Mitsch Oko), bass (Dan le Tard) and drums (Sebastian Schwab), the band creates a multi-dimensional soundscape via electronic sounds. Indie disco, alternative rock, world music, hip-hop and electro-pop. In all of this, Rainer is at the center with throat, falsetto and spoken vocals.
His lyrics are about longing for inner peace, the struggle to overcome everyday life, the feeling of having seen everything and yet knowing nothing.
