Genuine 'Hot Jazz' celebrates the Red Hot Hottentots from Frankfurt, one of the oldest jazz bands in Hesse, which has recently rejuvenated a lot.
Their repertoire ranges from New Orleans classics to evergreens of the swing era - from Joe 'King' Oliver and Louis Armstrong to Count Basie and Duke Ellington. The formation's infectious vitality, their playfulness and, above all, a good helping of blues also appeal to younger jazz fans, because jazz is rarely heard so spicy and with so much joy of improvisation.
From classical jazz interpretations the band found more and more to a more creative and more swinging way of playing up to elements of bebop without ever denying the love for traditional hot jazz.
