It's been an incredible thirteen years since Revolverheld released their debut album - the beginning of a band career the likes of which you don't often find anymore, especially in Germany. Since then, four studio albums have been released, all of which went into the top ten. In total, they've had an impressive fifteen singles in the charts - three of which from their last studio album "Immer in Bewegung" alone directly entered the top ten. The most exciting moment so far, however, was probably the album "MTV Unplugged in drei Akten", with whose eponymous release Johannes Strate, Kristoffer Hünecke, Niels Kristian Hansen and Jakob Sinn achieved their highest placing in the album charts to date. The subsequent tour swept away more than 230,000 enthusiastic spectators. After that, the band would have been more than welcome to take the announced one year off.
At least that was the plan. "After a month off, though, I was really keen to make music again," Johannes sums up. "We hadn't worked together on new songs for five years but had experienced an incredible amount together. It was really time to get creative again and let all that out." And so Johannes and Kris, the two songwriters of the band, played the first new songs to each other at the beginning of the year and realized: There is something new and unusual developing. At first Johannes and Kris worked in places like Amsterdam or St.Peter-Ording, let themselves be inspired by stories, melodies and ideas. With all these ideas the Revolverhelden drove in full crew strength with their longtime friend and producer Philipp Steinke to the beautiful island of Föhr and developed there the new Revolverheld sound for "Zimmer mit Blick".
The first radio hit single "Immer noch fühlen" is a song that reminds you of the moments that were formative and that you always carry with you. "Not as pure nostalgia, but celebrating the moment in the here and now." says Johannes. "Maybe that can be a good idea to realign your inner compass in confusing times like these."
Revolverheld's defining moments were the time of their first gigs - when everything started that today results in "Zimmer mit Blick". An album that probably just because of the many years of experience and the genuine friendship of the four musicians sounds so incredibly loose and with the first single this time even danceable. "And we dance like the first time - and what it looks like doesn't matter." This shows the new yet familiar spirit of a band that simply loves to make music for themselves and the fans out there.
That's why, for the release of "Zimmer mit Blick", Revolverheld are initially going back to where it all started. In the smallest clubs of the republic it pulls them to the album release for ten exclusive shows back. The tour - which was given for the first time only about the band's own ticket shop in the presale - was completely sold out in only 30 minutes and who got hold of one of the coveted tickets, could consider themselves lucky.
But who knows the Revolverhelden, knows that the guys are not satisfied with 10 small club concerts. And so now everyone else who didn't get any more tickets for the club tour can enjoy more concerts.
