The Rival Sons are considered the modern blues rock discovery of recent years. They don't sound retro or backward at all. On the contrary, the quartet from Los Angeles easily knows how to breathe fresh life into one of the most traditional musical styles in rock history. The acclaim is correspondingly wide-ranging: from heavy metal magazines to the established feuilleton to pop radio, everyone can agree on the bluesy, earthy and, at moments, soulfully warm sound of Rival Sons. Their latest, fifth album, "Hollow Bones," was released in June and became their biggest international success: in Europe alone, it entered the Top 10 charts in five countries and charted in every European country. In Germany, the record reached No. 12, and in her native U.S., it climbed to the top spot on the Heatseekers chart.
