In Frankfurt the music is playing! As part of the DEIN STADIONSOMMER FRANKFURT event series, over 7,500 musicians from all over Germany played their way into the history books in July 2016 and together formed the largest orchestra in the world. A successful bridge between classical music and pop - between underground and serious music - between amateur orchestra and professional musicians.
In the summer of 2019, musical (rock) history will once again be made in the Commerzbank Arena Frankfurt . and it will be loud! Because on 07 July 2019, the unique music project ROCKIN'1000 will come to Germany for the first time - and with it over 1,000 musicians to form the biggest rock band in the world together.
HOW THE FOO FIGHTERS CAME TO THE SMALL MUNICIPALITY OF CESENA (ITALY) FOR A CONCERT
Back in 2015, the story of ROCKIN'1000 began: around 1.000 musicians gathered in a park in Cesena - a small municipality in Emilia-Romagna - to play together "Learn to Fly" by the Foo Fighters. This event was preceded by the desire of a small group of rock fans to bring the band Foo Fighters to the region for a concert.
A crazy idea, but a complete success. In a matter of hours, the ROCKIN'1000 video went through the roof on social media. After over 40 million views and a video response from Dave Grohl (lead singer of the Foo Fighters), the ambitious plan finally came to fruition: a Foo Fighters concert in the small town of Cesena.

Inspired by this success, the makers of ROCKIN'1000 were spurred to continue the format and initiated "ROCKIN'1000 - That's Live". Why play just one song when you can have a full concert with the "biggest rock band in the world"? And so, just one year later, over 1,200 musicians gathered and performed a full-length rock concert in front of over 13,000 enthusiastic spectators at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium in Cesana on July 24.
Once they had a taste of concert air, there was to be another live ROCKIN'1000 concert in 2018. This time in Florence and with celebrity support. Courtney Love (singer and widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain) performed with over 1,500 musicians in front of more than 15,000 spectators.
In 2019, the music project ROCKIN'1000 crosses the Italian border and takes place for the first time in Germany, in perhaps the most musical stadium in the Federal Republic: the Commerzbank Arena Frankfurt: One stadium - 18 songs - 1.One stadium - 18 songs - 1,000 musicians - one concert!
Musicians from all over the world, of any age and any musical background can participate. We are looking for guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboard players, singers, wind and string players. Prerequisite is the fun of making music together and a soft spot for good rock music.
