The Palmengarten is not only a habitat for beautiful plants, but also a small oasis for culture. This becomes particularly clear during the four-day rose exhibition and its highlight, the great Festival of Lights. Here the beauty of roses meets a great cultural programme for young and old. The varied programme invites you to experience the world of roses with all your senses. Music, lectures, information, scents and culinary delights await you. Even the smallest visitors are well catered for.
Once again this year, the Galerie am Palmenhaus will be transformed into a magical 19th century garden for four days (one day longer than usual due to the Whitsun weekend). Thousands of roses beguile with their fragrances and colours and remind us that rose shows already belonged to the very first exhibitions of the Palmengarten.
Fest of Lights on 08.06.
A special highlight is the Festival of Lights on Saturday evening (08.06.) with music and dancing amidst the candlelight of thousands of tea lights. While for the children a mad program (15 - 19 o'clock) of child make-up over a play park, child dance up to child guidance were arranged, the adults may look forward to the dance under palms, live music among other things of Leyla Trebbien, Vibe Versa, the Swing Giants and the seven-headed formation Fayette, as well as over rose walks. Highlight of the festival of lights is then around 22:45 clock the big fireworks at the boat pond.
On Sunday continues with rose tours or a morning pint rather leisurely and the Whit Monday has then in addition to a children's program even more special tours on offer. Who has fallen in love with a rose variety during the four days, which has the opportunity to purchase some of the beautiful exhibits on Tuesday (10 am - 3 pm)!

To get to the Rose and Lights Festival in the Palmengarten you best use the bus and train connections. On Saturday, June 8, traffiQ reinforces buses and trains additionally.
In the evening, these are longer and more frequent: the subway line U4 offers more space by longer trains until around 1:30. Lines U6 and U7 both run every 15 minutes until around 1.30am. After that, lines U4 and U7 will continue to run on scheduled night service.
Bus lines 32 and 36 will run every 15 minutes between Westbahnhof and Ostbahnhof (32) and Sachsenhausen (36), respectively, until well past midnight. Due to the closure of Miquelallee, line 32 also serves the stops of line 75 at Palmengarten in the Westend. Line 50 offers connections from Bockenheimer Warte to Höchst every half hour until the last additional trip at 1.10 am.
