Cossacks! The epitome of independence and freedom, of the courage to face life and the attachment to one's homeland as once possessed by the great equestrian people of the Cossacks. Who does not know the names Sergej Jaroff and Andrej Scholuch, who founded the legendary Cossack choirs in Europe in the thirties of the twentieth century and led them to world fame? This 8-member formation is their successor. With their vocal power, their love of their homeland and freedom, they preserve and impressively convey the tradition of the old choirs. In their dark basses and clear tenors, the interplay between choral and solo singing reflects their deep faith in every single song, but also their temperament and their will for independence. With vivacity, they transport the listener to the harsh world of the 17th century, beyond serfdom and indentured servitude. The indescribably beautiful sacral liturgies of the Cossacks include, for example: Great Ekteny, Lord have mercy on us, Our Father, For many years to come. The secular part of the program, both melancholic and lively, is adapted to the church atmosphere: The Legend of the Twelve Robbers, Volga Tug, Evening Bells, Stenka Rasin, Marusia, Kalinka.
