The band was founded in mid 1985 by Andy Merck, Michael "Ohlly" Ohlhoff and Marc Mittelacher. With their gripping rockabilly, which was freshened up by a good shot of punk rock, they went completely new ways at that time and gained a constantly growing fan base by touring extensively at home and abroad. Their rockabilly version of the Prince classic "Purple Rain" was a resounding success. The debut album "Rumble Rat" (Weserlabel) shot up to #6 in the official Indie Charts 1986/87. The media was lining up, even the teen magazine "Bravo" showed their interest with an article and record reviews. Further record releases as well as extensive tours in Europe, Canada and the USA followed until 1994, after which RUMBLE ON THE BEACH said goodbye for an indefinite period of time.

Live fans could already convince themselves of this on December 4, 2015. December 2015, when RUMBLE ON THE BEACH delivered a brilliant comeback concert at the packed Tivoli in Bremen.
Now Bear Family Records releases the first two albums "Rumble Rat" from 1987 and "Rumble" from 1988 digitally remastered on one CD for the first time. Both albums were originally released by the Weserlabel in Bremen. "Purple Rain" is there of course, also "Juanita", "Ca Plane Pour Moi", "Rumble" and all the other gutter hits. The extremely clever melange of rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, punk and country became the band's trademark and made them virtually incomparable.
