Flight not only moves those in search of peace and freedom. Flight confronts us all to rethink our traditional ways and habits. Flight unites all who are willing to discover new ways and stand up for the freedom of others.
The photo exhibition shows musicians* of the eponymous concert project "BRIDGES - Music connects", refugees, migrants and locals, who together create benefit concerts for the benefit of refugee aid. Their different countries of origin, skin colors, cultures and religions could not be more different. What they have in common is the language of music, a language that needs no words and yet gives expression to the thoughts of each individual. Foreign tones, melodies and rhythms are perceived as enrichment and allow us to sense the deep roots and traditions behind this universal language.
While on stage the timbres of the individual instruments merge into a whole, the exhibition visualizes with ca. 40 large-format black-and-white photographs visualizes the cultural diversity and at the same time the musicians* in their uniqueness.
