For too long, disabled bodies have at best been used in the theatre to represent otherness. In "Dis_Sylphide", choreographer and cultural activist Saša Asentić gathers an equal team of people with and without disabilities to examine aesthetic regimes in dance history. Three key works of the 20th century, which originated in Germany and then revolutionized dance worldwide, serve as a starting point. Asentić and his team expertly appropriate this material to develop their own aesthetic and claim a place in dance history. "Dis_Sylphide" humorously and surprisingly upends existing norms and conventions from the body and invites us to conquer the theater space as a place of alternative togetherness.
