Sasha always had other adventures on his mind during his remarkable career, whether as an internationally successful pop star, rockabilly hero Dicke Brave or as a perfect entertainer at "Alive & Swingin". Again and again he knew how to reinvent himself and fascinate his fans with the different facets of his artistic personality.
After two decades you can now experience Sasha for the first time in German. His surprising album "Schlüsselkind" could not be more authentic. Of course, the exceptional artist also celebrates his 20th anniversary with a big tour. From the end of September to the end of October, he presents his brand new German songs as well as the English-language greatest hits of his career in 14 cities.
In short, concise sentences, Sasha sketches large tableaus on "Schlüsselkind", translates memories, conveys inner insights and thoughts in rousing, catchy songs. "I made my first attempts to sing in German back in the mid-nineties", says Sasha: "Back then I was impressed by the band Nationalgalerie, but also by Selig. Then I knew: It's also possible in German. But I still lacked the seriousness at that time.
Sasha's new songs now have this authenticity. It was important for him to break through thinking in English and accept German as a new singing language. Sasha explored this over the last three years. That's how long the work on Schlüsselkind took. Together with Robin Grubert and Ali Zuckowski - two of his closest co-writers, composers and friends, he worked in Los Angeles ready to reboot since 2015, until he found himself in the material and finally knew: "Geil, it's all good!"."
Two decades have passed, during which Sasha has mastered an international career with various hits (including "If You Believe," "Slowly," "Coming Home," "Lucky Day" and "Hide & Seek" and most recently "Good Days") and released a total of eight albums. His record sales at home and abroad achieved gold status 17 times and platinum status six times. He was awarded, among others, four Echos, three 1Live crowns a Bambi, a Golden Camera and the German Television Award.
As Dick Brave and The Backbeats Sasha raged in the meantime successfully on a completely different musical field. At the invitation of Xavier Naidoos he sang at the first season of "Sing meinen Song". For more than ten years he has been thrilling hundreds of thousands at "Alive & Swingin" together with Rea Garvey, Xavier Naidoo and Michael Mittermeier.
The really nice thing about "Schlüsselkind" is that Sasha has taken his smile and his self-confidence with him. He is - as always - blazing his own musical trail into a future that has only just begun.
