Is the next newcomer sensation between grunge, punk, indie and garage rock on the horizon? Like Canadians The Dirty Nil, Norway's Sauropod are a three-piece, bringing various '90s influences into the present with panache and a knack for embedding shimmering alternative-era melodies between jangly garage sounds and early grunge à la "Bleach". So far, guitarist and vocalist Jonas Røyeng, bassist and vocalist Kamilla Waal Larsen and drummer Jørgen Natland Apeness have only released a handful of singles, but have already made it to the prestigious Øya Festival with them. The songs they have released so far are featured on their debut album "Roaring At The Storm", which was released in the German-speaking countries by Popup Records this autumn.
