Streifzug Romantik..a journey through dream and reality
It starts again - the Vielharmonie Sachsenhausen presents after the successful Christmas revue "Plätzchenangst" on June 23 at Dr. Hoch`s Konservatorium a musical journey through the Romantic period. The whole singing, dancing and acting.
Under the musical direction of Brigitte Hertel, the music of the Romantic period is brought to the stage.
About 200 years ago, in a time of upheaval with the powerful onset of industrialization and political stagnation, Romanticism emphasized man's loneliness and homelessness in the world and longed for absorption in a mystical, magical nature.
The Romantic figure par excellence, a lonely wanderer, enters the stage and a musical journey through space and time begins. Works from Germany, Italy and the USA of the 19th century are heard, but also contemporary works, such as "Stars" by Ērik Ešenvald, "Northern Lights" by Ola Gjeilo or "Ich seh' Dich" by Oliver Gies. Thus, the romantic feeling of life is also recreated in the Baltic region and today.
The actor and singer Eric Lenke will lead through the evening. Top-class guests enrich the scene: in addition to pianist Olga Lindner and violinist Puschan Mousavi Malvani, who will perform Sarasate's virtuoso Carmen Fantasy, the ballet school Anastasia Dierksen will participate in the concert from its current program.
