"Schillers sämtliche Werke . leicht gekürzt" is a cheerful and above all successful, extremely humorous and yet sophisticated foray through a world full of classical literature, revolutionary spirit and sizzling gags. It is a play that does justice to Friedrich Schiller, the Swabian Tarantino among the classics. Besides the many funny scenes and abrupt changes between Schiller's text and texts about Schiller, one learns a lot about his life, his work, his time, his love affairs and his relationship to Goethe. Schiller appears old and new, original and parodied, with his entire biography and all his works and their references from then to now. Simply ingenious. So amusing, intense and yet entertaining. Granted: Slight cuts had to be made to the overall work, it didn't hurt it at all. In the last season on our stage, a certain compression has already done Shakespeare's works more than good. Between the first and the last play of the Sturm- und-Drang genius Friedrich Schiller, the four actors zap their way cheekily and merrily through all the great tragedy scenes.
Not only for classical music fans a real joy and laughter fest. Unbridled joy in playing, coupled with Schiller's power of words and plenty of humour. A must see! With Detlev Nyga, Axel Schwenk, Tim Grothe and Maroin Mhadhbi
