On the way to the Hurricane- and Southside-Festival! The search is on for the successors of Funk Fragment from Coswig: Germany's biggest up-and-coming festival is entering its 17th round. Until December 21, 2018, young musicians and bands could apply. The final will take place on 4 April 2019 at the Frankfurt Music Fair. And the main prize is something to be proud of: Performances at the Southside and Hurricane festivals - the dream of every musician.
On the road to Southside/Hurricane 2019, the band will be prepared for the big show with two days of studio production at the Abbey Road Institute studios and another two days of stage and video coaching at satiy&fy's legendary 20/20 studios.
Who will be Germany's best up-and-coming band? For the 17th time, the nationwide competition SchoolJam has now begun. From all entrants, at least 100 acts will be invited to perform live on stage at a total of ten concerts across Germany in January 2019. 20 bands will then be up for grabs in the grand final on 4 April 2019 at Musikmesse Frankfurt, Europe's biggest music fair. A jury will select two finalists at each of the ten concerts, who will then go into the online voting. Here, the fans then vote on who gets to perform in front of a very big backdrop in Frankfurt at the end. Another, with professional musicians, journalists and representatives of record companies high-profile final jury finally determines the SchoolJam winner 2018/2019 - and thus the "best up-and-coming band in Germany".
