Gifted song poet Scott Matthew has earned the highest respect from both critics and fans with his five solo albums to date since his 2008 self-titled debut. The Australian native writes and sings of the yearning and disappearance of love like few others - always deeply insightful, touchingly arranged and in a style all his own.
Just in time for 1. Advent, Scott Matthew is now releasing a 2-track single on November 29 featuring two Christmas classics that he interpreted and recorded together with fellow Australian Sia. While the duet "Baby It's Cold Outside" is one of his absolute favourites, "Silent Night" came about rather by chance - but as a sparsely instrumented Christmas ballad with guitar, ukulele and little bells it fits quite wonderfully into the reflective Advent season.
Whoever experiences Scott Matthew live is usually strangely moved. Scott turns suffering into song, stripping away his inner self before the audience. He allows listeners to share, to participate, to become part of something special. Scott Matthew touches deeply, the intensity of his singing is always quite immediate and often wonderful.
