The great Steve Albini, producer of Nirvana, PJ Harvey and many more, member of the desert rock band Shellac, produced most of Scout Niblett's songs. Albini likes it raw, stripped down, loud. The sparseness of the music suits Scout Niblett's mostly gentle voice perfectly. The pieces oscillate between drastic and euphonic, have an energy that blows you away. Scout Niblett, who started writing her own songs as a schoolgirl, has long since achieved a special position in the indie rock genre. Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy) supported her vocally on her album "This Fool Can Die Now". Her full name is Emma Louise Niblett. She named herself Scout after seeing the film adaptation of Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" - after the protagonist from the century-old novel.
