Sertab Erener

Sertab Erener Sertab Erener is one of the most successful artists in Turkish pop music. She came to the attention of Sezen Aksu in the late 1980s and has accompanied her career ever since. In 1992, Sertab Erener released her first album "Sakin Ol". The compositions and lyrics for most of the songs on the album were penned by Sezen Aksu. Together they sold 950,000 copies of "Sakin Ol". Fahir Atakoğlu composed for Sertab Erener's next album "Lâ'l" (1994). "Lâ'l", like the following album "Sertab Gibi" (1996), sold a total of about 1.5 million copies.

NFollowing her most successful fourth album to date, "Sertab" (1999), she performed with Ricky Martin and released the single "Aşk" with Greek singer Mando. 2003, Sertab Erener won the 48th Eurovision Song Contest in Riga for Turkey, achieving Europe-wide fame. Her winning song "Everyway That I Can" (Turkish version: "Sen üzülme diye") became a hit across Europe. Encouraged by the international success, Sertab released the English-language album "No Boundaries" in 2004.

In 2005, she contributed a cover version of Madonna to the soundtrack for Fatih Akın's documentary "Crossing The Bridge - The Sound of Istanbul". In 2008, Sertab Erener released her first concert DVD Otobiyografi "Istanbul Konseri" for her 15th stage anniversary. 2009 saw the release of her second English-language album "Painted on Water" in collaboration with Demir Demirkan.
