"That what is there should belong to those who are good for it." - Bertolt Brecht
"That would make - not only - Brecht turn over in his grave." - Night Review
Property alters consciousness. It separates friends, grants power over others, excludes. Property is taken for granted, but it is not talked about. Nothing is so constitutive of society and living together, nothing has such a divisive effect on community. She She Pop unravel the mystery of property with "Oratory." With a chorus of local delegates and the audience, the globally successful performance collective looks at their own ownership, the distribution of goods and the dislocations that come with it. Inspired by Brecht's Lehrstücktheorie, rules for a dialogic evening of theatre were developed and discordant choruses formed to negotiate the treatment of property anew each evening.
