The Schlossplatz is the atmospheric backdrop for the Wiesbaden shooting star market. Visitors can look forward to arts and crafts, pre-Christmas specialties and an equally atmospheric accompanying program with choirs, nativity plays, tower winds, concerts, fairy tale stories and much more.
The shooting star market, which has also developed into an attractive tourist highlight for national and international groups of guests in recent years, takes place from 28 November to 23 December 2023.
Christmas decorations, arts and crafts, jewelry, leather goods, accessories and countless original gift ideas can be discovered at the market stalls. Tempting aromas are just as much a part of the market: Christmas baked goods and other culinary delicacies and, of course, mulled wine are on offer at numerous locations. The market, organized by Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH, is rounded off by an entertaining entertainment program for the whole family. Once again, the Roie family's popular historical children's carousel and a children's train await the little ones.
Four large gates decorated with the Wiesbaden lily guide guests to the market between the Old Town Hall, State Parliament, Town Hall and the Market Church. In addition, there are a large number of illuminated lilies borrowed from the city's coat of arms, which, together with the festively illuminated Christmas tree, which is around 24 meters high, give the Sternschnuppen Markt its very special glow. This splendour can also be viewed from lofty heights, as the Ferris wheel set up on Mauritiusplatz offers a unique view of Christmassy Wiesbaden from a height of 45 meters - and also of the gastronomic offerings on Mauritiusplatz, which invite you to linger before or after a ride on the Ferris wheel.

Kindersternschnuppenmarkt
The Kindersternschnuppenmarkt can once again be found on Luisenplatz. An impressive light show, a gnome forest, a carousel, a bakery and food and craft stalls await the young guests.

- Christmas Eve, public holidays, 24. to 26 December, on New Year's Eve, 31 December, and on New Year's Day, 1 January 2024, the market will be closed
