In her third novel, Kiss, Lausanne-born Simone Meier has her fledgling heroes Gerda and Yann move into an old house on the outskirts of town. Gerda is unemployed, investing all her energy in furnishing and in a fixed idea:
She affords herself an imaginary affair. What begins as a game will consume Gerda with all its might.Yann meets an enigmatic girl full of demands.
And neighbor Valerie, in her early fifties and a journalist, is suddenly faced with the question of whether life is starting over for her now, of all times, after a momentous one-night stand.Of three possible love stories, at least one and a half take place only in the imagination.
Meier also works as a journalist for various Swiss newspapers. She has won various prizes and scholarships. Her first novel Mein Lieb, mein Lieb, mein Leben was published in 2000, followed in 2017 by her novel Fleisch (Kein & Aber).
