Pink with glitter or blue with sports motif - we hear such descriptions and already we think we know: Girl or boy. But what happens when a boy chooses a pink satchel? Or a girl has a short hairstyle? And who remembers that about 100 years ago the color pink, as the "little red "was assigned to boys? The dance performance "Rock wie Hose" playfully questions the "typical" gender attributions, everything can be tried out - movements, clothes, hairstyles, props - the piece swirls everything once mixed up. The break dancer is also a "girly" on the cat walk and the dancer plays with her muscles in the dance ring. The dance piece wants to make the boundaries of socially defined roles permeable. With elements from contemporary dance, hip hop battle culture, aikido stick fighting and a sound and music collage of "real" children's voices, the role clichés are vigorously shaken: just, rock like pants! Célestine Hennermann and her ensemble were awarded the Karfunkel 2015, the Children's and Youth Theatre Prize of the City of Frankfurt. An elephant-walk-GBR production. Made possible by the support of the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main and the KARFUNKEL 2015 award. Funded by the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts.
