The new event format S.O.U.P shaping our urban phuture is a multi-day festival that explores the theme "city of the future" in various ways. Taking place in the former Sportarena department store at Frankfurt's Hauptwache, the premiere event from September 9-11, 2021 will offer a discourse across society with science, politics, architecture, subculture, culture and society, and will address ideas for Frankfurt and cities in general across disciplines.
In the spirit of "City of the Future", the event's topics range from urban life and coexistence to diversity, mobility, education and art: are stereotypes outdated? What do relationships look like in a digitalized, urban world with endless options? Does the city make people depressed? The international speakers address the questions of the day. With more than 500 participants, the festival format wants to be able to define one's own possibilities of influence in dialogue on site.
Various inclusive formats
.The thoughtful event design encourages exciting exchanges on multiple levels. While the main stage will focus on fundamental visions of the city of the future, two other stages will make concrete references to Frankfurt and present pioneering projects with a global model character.
"S.O.U.P is clearly more than just the next specialist conference on the subject of urban development. We want questions about the future to reach the people living in cities. That's why we put a lot of effort into strong content and clear visibility," emphasises initiator Nico Ubenauf. His partner James Ardinast adds: "We are driven by the social opportunities and challenges in cities. We clearly take a bottom-up approach, because we are inspired by street culture. That's where we come from. We need to take the developments and trends of the ground floor and give them a relevant platform."
