Space Oddity

The band around the Grönemeyer guitarist Jakob Hansonis already exists for many years and again and again single Bowie titles found their way into their repertoire. When the "Thin White Duke" passed away in January, it was clear to the band: the next concert has to be different! A complete Bowie program as a respectful bow to his legacy - away from any masquerade and embarrassing imitations, it should be. And after two rehearsals everything was ready. The premiere in Cologne was such a success that it has driven the band ever since to continue this young tribute project with full vigour.

Exquisite song selection, musical skills and pure passion made their first performance under "Space Oddity" an unforgettable event. The band presents the songs extremely punchy, some modernized and further executed, others rearranged and rockier. Hupperten adapts Bowie's vocal hallmarks in deft and original ways - all in all, more than just a cover and never mere plagiarism.
