When Spielbergs from Oslo released their debut single "We Are All Going To Die" in February 2018, no one quite expected this level of positive feedback. It was a rallying cry, an urgent and insistent exploration of the concept of mortality. It was a song that rallied rock and indie fans and journalists from around the world and catapulted the band to the top of the Hype Machine charts, briefly making them the "most blogged about band" in the world. They were, according to BBC 6 Music, the band to watch out for in the future.
But aside from all the praise the single and the release of their debut EP "Distant Star" brought, one question remained unanswered: where to go from here?
What for some is an insurmountable mountain to climb with much hardship, for others is an opportunity that can motivate and drive them to new heights. And if there's one thing Spielbergs don't lack, it's good new ideas. The band finally released their debut album "This Is Not The End" on February 01, 2019 via By The Time It Gets Dark (EU).
With its immediacy, bravery in its simplicity, and their intense "to the point of no return" trademark sound, Spielbergs showcase their knack for good melodies and emotionally crafted songs more clearly than ever on "4AM".
