Elements from Johannes Brahms' Third Symphony
Reunion under new auspices: Almost a year to the day after its acclaimed debut at the Alte Oper Frankfurt as part of de Musikfest 2019, the Stegreif.orchester returns to the Alte Oper on Sunday, September 20 2 20 from 7:00 p.m., this time in the Great Hall, which will be adequately spaced to accommodate Corona
. The original plan was for the orchestra to contribute to this year's music festival, "The Unanswered Question", but due to the current situation this cannot take place as planned. Nevertheless, the orchestra will accept the invitation to the Alte Oper with a modified programme: #freebrahms is the title of its project, which is based on an examination of Johanns Brahms' Third Symphony. The approximately 30 young musicians from a variety of genres will present their interpretation of the Third - free, improvising, but at the same time with a serious interpretation of the musical text and taking into account the historical roots of the work. The result is a new view of the four movements, influenced by rock and Balkan music, by meditative pads and by salsa as much as by Brahms' score; and relying on vocals, electric guitar, drumset and saxophone as much as on classical orchestral instruments.
The concert will last approximately 60 minutes and will be played without intermission.
Due to new seating and new conception of the concert, previously purchased tickets will not remain valid, and a new ticket purchase will be required to attend.
Tickets already purchased for the originally announced concert must be returned to the respective advance booking office for refund.
