Pop culture knows few songwriters, performers and live acts whose success spans four decades. Sting is one of those exceptional performers who has lost none of his popularity. The ever-thoughtful superstar, who has also made a name for himself as an author and actor, will present his impressive canon of songs from the Police days to modern times on 31 July at the Bowling Green in Wiesbaden and on 1 August at the Waldbühne in Berlin. He will be accompanied by his outstanding band.
Since 1989, Sting has released 14 studio albums. In total, he has sold 100 million albums with The Police and as a solo artist. His work has earned him ten Grammys, in addition to the six with The Police, countless gold and platinum awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and three Academy Award nominations. Sting appeared in 15 feature films and published two books, including his memoir "Broken Music". He received a Tony Award nomination for his biographical musical "The Last Ship", which premiered on Broadway in October 2014.
His support for human rights organizations is documented in his many activities. With his wife TrudieStyler, he founded the Rainforest Fund in the late 1980s to protect rainforests and their people.
Sting has brought a rare credibility to popular music, reflected in the innovative quality of his creative work and his integrity of personal attitude. The "master of the tightrope act" continues to add exciting new chapters to a career that has spanned nearly 40 years.
