In the past two years, the Archaeological Museum has invited its visitors to explore "soil treasures" or go on a "LEGO time travel" during the summer months. And once again this year, the summer exhibition is clearly aimed at children and families. The museum team has once again taken on the exciting challenge of making a theme interesting for visitors aged 4 and up. And they have succeeded very well. There is indeed a lot of informative and interesting stuff for adults who are interested in the prehistoric era. But the ten hands-on stations ensure that children in particular will have a lot of fun here. Playfully, they experience a day in the Stone Age from a child's point of view. Whether in the large living tent, into which one may enter of course, or at the beautiful play station, at which the children can give free rein to their creativity, in the entire exhibition area knowledge is not only conveyed dryly, but also made tangible. Those who wish may even slip into authentic Stone Age clothing or try their hand at musical instruments from the period. Students of pre- and early history from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University have also been integrated into the exhibition. They will be on site daily from 10am - 4pm to answer questions from visitors young and old. There will also be an exciting accompanying programme of lectures and events. Children will also have the opportunity to explore the exhibition with an activity booklet as a guide. They can then use it to try to solve exciting puzzles about the Palaeolithic Age. This exhibition, which is sponsored by the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt, once again makes it clear how much fun imparting knowledge can be. And for Mayor Peter Feldmann, an exhibition like this is a good way to make children aware of the value of some of the achievements we take for granted today and where their roots lie. We hope you enjoy visiting this beautiful exhibition!
