With the SUMMER IN THE CITY series, the Mousonturm is once again bringing first-class concerts to the summer ambience of the Music Pavilion in the Palmengarten. The first concert will take place on 19 . July will be the great Rufus Wainwrigt. Praised by the New York Times for his "genuine originality," Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great singers, songwriters and composers of his generation. The New York-born, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter has released ten studio albums, three DVDs and three live albums to date, including the Grammy-nominated "Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall." He has collaborated with artists including Elton John, Robert Wilson, Boy George, Joni Mitchell, the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Sting and producer Mark Ronson, and has written two operas, numerous songs for film and television and a musical. On his most recent Grammy- and Juno-nominated album, "Unfollow the Rules," Wainwright presents himself at the height of his powers, entering artistic maturity with passion, honesty and a newfound fearlessness.
The event will be held in all weather. Access only through the entrance on Palmengartenstraße. No seating.
