Jazz-Manouche, or Gypsy Swing, gains charm and esprit from its fusion of the musical tradition of the Gypsies with the influences of the swing jazz of the 1930s and 1940s. Decisively influenced by Django Reinhardt, the founder of European jazz, who died in 1953. His compositions are as much part of the repertoire as swing standards, Latin American melodies and chanson themes - all played with swinging virtuosity. Instrumentation:
Stefan Frisch - guitar
Tillman Suhr - guitar
Paul Schmandt - double bass More info: http://www.swing-belleville.en/ Text source and more information about this event:
