Double Concert - S(w)inging Brubeck + Roads & Shoes
Pianist Dave Brubeck released "TIME OUT" in 1960, one of the most successful jazz records ever. It contained only original compositions, and almost none of them were in a common time signature. Despite this, the record quickly went platinum. This famous album inspired Laia Genc and Sabine Kühlich to create their own interpretations. With voice, saxophone and piano they present the songs of the Dave Brubeck Quartet - and new compositions, and just like the masters both compose in unusual time signatures. Kühlich and Genc draw on Brazilian, Cuban as well as European musical traditions and tastefully blend with the "Great American Songbook" in European tradition "S(W)INGING BRUBECK".
