Hoffmann falls in love with the enchanting Olympia, without suspecting that she is a singing, dancing puppet. His second great love is the delicate Antonia. She perishes from her passion, singing. And his third love is also marked by misfortune. The Venetian Giulietta wants his soul to save herself. Each time, Hoffmann's diabolical adversary, who appears in ever-changing guises, has a hand in it. Hoffmann cannot escape his fate.
A soulful story in dazzling costume design, this promises to be a dramatic but enjoyable evening of theatre. In addition to many beautiful melodies, the world-famous Barcarole will of course be heard "Schöne Nacht, o Liebesnacht".
In this opera play, actors and singers are once again on stage together in this Papageno production. Hans-Dieter Maienschein and Pari Samar, who for many years sang the roles of Niklaus (Muse) and Giulietta, among others, in the opera "Hoffmanns Erzählungen", direct the production. at the Frankfurt Opera.
