The vagabond with new album on German tour 2017
Talisco is one of those people who always have to be on the move. "You could say that I am a vagabond," the French singer tells. "What I observe in the people around me: If they stay too long in one place, they eventually only see the bad and get frustrated. I have a house in Paris, but I travel a lot. To be creative, I need to feel free, and when I travel, I do. In the last two years, I've been on the road a lot. It's had a big impact on my new album." "Capitol Vision" is its name, and it couldn't be more personal.
But first things first. Talisco, whose real name is Jérôme Amandi, was born in Bordeaux. He began making music at the tender age of eleven. At 20, common sense prevailed: to earn money, he took a job in marketing. For ten years he left music to the left - until his uncle encouraged him to live his dream. In 2014, Talisco's debut album "Run" was finally released. It brought him the hit single "Your Wish" and tours throughout Europe and America. The sound of his second album was largely defined by that. "I wanted to capture the live sound of my band," he explains. "I wanted the songs to sound more brute and raw. 'More boom.'"
'More boom' actually sums it up quite well. Guitars take on a bigger role on "Capitol Vision." Talisco has also experimented more with samples - and, all in all, staged his electro-folk even bigger. The spectrum ranges from pensive ballads to folky up-beat numbers like "Shadows" to the absolutely danceable "Loose". We are happy to welcome Jérôme and his band back to Germany for four dates.
