The French expression 'tableau vivant', 'living image', refers to a fashion in 19th-century forms of entertainment. People posed with costumes in a particular group setting in imitation of images in painting and sculpture. This fun pastime has much in common with this year's program at Dance Studio Constanza: a playful, dance exploration of various paintings from Western painting - and also an attempt to have dancers young and old bring these images to life.
Dance Studio Constanza was founded in 2011 by Constanza Pelechá. The studio specializes in modern and classical dance and offers classes for all levels and ages. Now Constanza Pelecha has once again put together a diverse performance titled "tableau vivant". This is the seventh dance program with children, teens and adults with us. In the first performance with Allen, tickets are only available through the studio. Reservations can be made with us for the later performance without the young children (ages 3-10).
