On "In between all the noise" Tonbandgerät again circle around the theme of biographical "becoming" - and deepen it, with poetic lyrics that have it all, and with music of a new complexity. The infectious lightness of Tonbandgerät's music is joined on their new silver disc by a melancholic note that is not to be found on their previous albums. On perhaps the first "real" ballad by Tonbandgerät, for example, it's even about death.
But as always, the quartet manages to turn even the pain into life-affirming pop. Pop that goes straight to the heart and feet, and is ideally suited as medicine against any kind of melancholy.
