Taulant Shehu, dancer of the Hessian State Ballet and aspiring choreographer, explores his Albanian roots in his new creation Dua. "Family and tradition represent two important pillars of Albanian culture, and at few times are they more closely linked than in a wedding ceremony," he says. In Dua, the wedding as the culmination of solemnity, joy and the promise to stay together forever becomes the starting point for a reflection on human coexistence in general. Taulant Shehu turns his attention to the individual participants, choreographically exploring their own stories, emotions and backgrounds.
