Presented will be works by professionals, by students and by young people. In addition to the artistic program, the three directors of the festival also ask the real groups, teams and associations in Frankfurt on stage. A three-day celebration of art, discourse and party from October 21-23, 2016: The journey is the destination, as local research and on-site encounters are at the core of the festival's program. "thousand||one: groups you want to meet before they die" sees itself as a shout-out to the city. The curatorial view is questioning and deliberately unfinished: Who are the groups and associations that Frankfurt produces? How do they present themselves when invited to do so? Do groups per se have a time limit? If so, what conditions their end? What structural changes are Frankfurt and, more specifically, the Gallus facing? And last but not least: Why are group photos always so embarrassing anyway? The discovery of the Italian theatre troupe I MACAP takes us back to the origins of the Gallus Theatre. The group, legendary in the Gallus especially in the 80s, is now inactive and inspires director Faraz Baghaei to develop a play about affiliations. Four groups of students from the Frankfurt area make the festival theme concrete: they develop installations and performances on the question:''Which grouping of Frankfurt will be forgotten first? Who will fall to irrelevance first?'' The provocative setting puts up for discussion how our society defines what and who is relevant. The projects run under the collective title "Cabinet of Irrelevance". Scottish performance artist Rosana Cade's "Walking:Holding" evokes the smallest possible group: the couple holding hands in the cityscape. In 1:1 situations, the spectator becomes part of an ever-changing constellation of couples and, while walking together, experiences the Gallus from the perspective of subversive performers. "Hardened market participants. Ein Tornado an Impressionen" is the title of a theatre project with young people from Frankfurt that deals with money flows and the difficult-to-fathom logic of the financial world, and in which the young people also question their own roles as consumers and market participants. The play is directed by Jan Koslowski, Laura Melina Berling and Leonie Hunter. The play will premiere at the festival. The festival hosts the Landesverband Professionelle Darstellende Künste Hessen e.V. on two days. (laPROF). With the writing workshop "writer's room", initiated by Jan Deck, different writers try their hand at collectively writing a common text. This is only a part of the diverse program points. The festival occupies the entire space of the theatre; in addition, guided walks lead into the district. The programme is largely made up of in-house productions, created exclusively for the festival and in close connection with the theme, and developed by local and visiting artists. It is produced in cooperation with the Gallus Theater.
