Conductor Ilan Volkov, who handles musical tradition as well as recent music, loves experimentation.
Because open concepts of works, i.e. experimental arrangements or small-scale, daring but remarkably emphatic music, are usually neglected or even neglected at large-scale orchestral festivals, Volkov curates, where he can and where it is desired, his own internal programmes in the volume of a concert evening of several hours, he calls these coherent projects.
