Tenacious D - that's Jack Black and Kyle Gass, two gifted actors, comedians and rock gods who have made it their mission to save the world with incredible guitar solos, breathtaking falsetto vocals and the best songs ever. Now, in February 2020, the two most beautiful bellies in rock history will return to the big stages of the Republic: on 12.02. to the Olympiahalle, Munich; on 16.02. to the Festhalle, Frankfurt; on 17.02. to the Max-Schmeling-Halle, Berlin and on 22.02. to Dortmund to the Westfalenhalle.
What starts in the early 90s in Kyle's apartment with jamming together, writes music history a short time later: At their first gig in Al's Bar in Los Angeles they play only one song called "Tribute". This excites a producer in charge at the HBO television network so much that they promptly get a show on the network. "Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth which appeared on HBO" becomes the starting point of the success story of this extraordinary duo.
2001 sees the release of their debut album "Tenacious D", which directly rakes in multiple gold and platinum. On it is also the single "Tribute", a tribute to the allegedly best song in the world. In 2006, the two even got their own movie. To go with the album of the same name, "The Pick of Destiny" is released, in which Jack and Kyle experience all kinds of strange things in their search for a sacred guitar pick, and of course perform lots of songs along the way. And with their music videos for "Tribute," "Wonderboy" and the romantic uber-hit "Fuck Her Gently," they created masterpieces of modern art.
Black and Gass continue to work tirelessly toward their legendary status with their subsequent albums, "Rize of the Fenix" (2012) and "Post-Apocalypto" (2018). Whether it's Rock am Ring, Glastonbury, or Coachella, Tenacious D delivers the greatest rock show ever on any stage, every time!
2014, a Grammy in the category "Best Metal Performance" crowns this effort.
Now the two saviours also finally return to German soil: Between 12 and 22 February 2020, Tenacious D will once again fight the devil with a breathtaking show and grand gestures and ensure unforgettable evenings. The US band Wynchester will be on hand to support.
