Something good seems to have come out of Trump's presidency after all. As the U.S. becomes more and more smothered in its political vapors and the land of opportunity grows into a land of fear and oppression, one would prefer to keep all windows and doors closed forever, but it's in times like these that the free spirit and rebellion of American punk rock is more important than ever. First and foremost, the cult Californians of Adolescents now serve up an album that is a direct punch in the face of all Donald fanatics and, as the ninth longplayer in the band's long career, can simultaneously be regarded as the most furious and yet also the most maturely astute. With an incredible 39 (!) career years, the Adolescents could gain an undisputed reputation as one of the most famous punk and hardcore bands in the USA, after the troupe was founded in 1979 by ex-Agent Orange bassist Steve Soto and singer Tony Cadena. Together with the famous Agnew brothers from Social Distortion they released their debut album in 1981 and since then it's hard to imagine the scene without them. Despite numerous line-up changes and two band break-ups, the combo has now been back at the forefront since 2001 and once again they dove deep into the pool of cruel reality to secure inspiration for their new studio album titled "Cropduster". Due out in July, the 18-track longille once again hits right where it hurts, not only soundtracking the band's unbridled hatred for the current head of state of the United States, but holding a mirror up to the world that unfortunately too many narrow-minded people don't want to look into.
