In June THE AFGHAN WHIGS release their new album "In Spades", which is extraordinary in many ways. On the one hand, it's typical of the band that became outsized in the '90s for bridging the gap between the Midwestern punk of Die Kreuzen and Hüsker Dü, the psychedelic soul symphonies of the Temptations, the raw energy of Nirvana or Mudhoney, and the rocking broad textures of Led Zeppelin or Lynyrd Skynyrd. On the other hand, it continues the musical incursions of the last album "Do To The Beast", which had been released in 2014, completely surprising and after more than a decade and a half break. Which in turn is due to the fact that THE AFGHAN WHIGS have become a veritable band.
In June, they once again make their way to Frankfurt, where they will perform their songs to the best of their abilities.
