Die Kassierer, last guest with us a good two years ago, are, if you will, one of Germany's flagship punk bands with a very unique career. Starting with dadaistic cabaret performances in the late 80s, then the breakthrough and lots of hostility with the invention and establishment of the so-called "Ficklied" in the 90s, increasing popularity in all social classes, great popularity at metal festivals and musical accompaniment of whole generations of kids on their way to school in the "noughties".
Today regular guest appearances at Wacken, sold out halls, etc. pp. The Kassierer fascinate with their satirical wit and the great contrast of their program. This is true for their music, which includes metal, jazz, orchestral interludes and bizarre compositions in addition to lots of punk. But it's especially true for their insane lyrics, which screw everyday observations with absurd comparisons, grotesque sexual statements and bizarre excursions into the spheres of the inexplicable.
